Artist Residency at Fen Ditton Gallery

 

Fen Ditton Gallery is pleased to invite artists from across the UK to submit a proposal for a live-in artist residency at the gallery.

This is an opportunity for an established artist or photographer to develop their practice in an inspiring environment and create a body of work that offers a new perspective on the Fens and represents the values of the gallery’s interest in the natural world.

The artist will be living in the house with Lotte, who is a black and white photographer, a keen gardener and passionate about nature, the environment and conservation. For the right candidate, the residency will be an opportunity for conversation, collaboration and inspiration.

About Fen Ditton Gallery

Opened in May 2018, Fen Ditton Gallery is an independent gallery, run by artist-photographer Lotte Attwood and her daughter Hannah Munby, with curatorial and programme advice from Amanda Game. The gallery is housed in a large, converted school building on the outskirts of Cambridge and is home to Lotte.

Fen Ditton Gallery is located on the edge of the Fens and just a 45-minute walk or 15-minute bike ride along the river to Cambridge city centre. Cambridge North train station is a 15-minute walk away, with good connections to London and Norfolk.

About the residency

We welcome proposals from artists for the opportunity to take up an artist residency at the gallery and encourage applications from artists who would be able to run a workshop too.

The residency costs £250pw for the selected artist.
Duration of residency: 2 weeks - 1 month

The residency includes:
-   Double room with private bathroom
-   Use of kitchen facilities
-   Use of the gallery as a studio
-   End of residency open studio exhibition (gallery commission applies)
-   WiFi
