Laura Boswell: White Rock, Black Rock

About the artist:

Laura Boswell is based on the West Coast of Scotland and her work is an exploration of space, scale and light in wild landscape. Her prints begin with observational drawing and photography, but are not direct geographic representations. They are a result of the feel of place, the season and weather. Her techniques and approach is heavily influenced by studies in Japan and she experiments with linocut, Japanese woodblock and Western woodblock.

Boswell is an elected member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers and has exhibited internationally. She is a monthly columnist for Artists and Illustrators Magazine and has published two books: Linocut and Reduction Printing, Design and Techniques and Making Japanese Woodblock Prints.
